Rule 2.這個世界並不會關心你的自尊，想要讓自己好過一點，就得先成就些什麼事。
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3.不可能躺著就可以有數萬元薪水，你得費自己力氣去賺。
You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone, until you earn both.
Rule 4.如果你認為師長對你太嚴，等你有了上司你就會知道什麼是真正的嚴。
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.
Rule 5.去餐廳打工並不會讓你有失身分，長輩對你去做基層工作會稱之為－機會。
Flipping burger is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping they called it opportunity.
Rule 6.就算事情做不好，也不能遷怒你父母，那並不是你父母的錯。別埋怨你碰到的挫折，應該要從挫折中記取教訓。
If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7.你的長輩其實可以不必像現在這麼煩你。他們之所以要如此，是因此他們一直在付你的帳單、清洗你的衣服、清你的垃圾。想要減輕你長輩的負擔，請先從清除你房裡的汙垢做起。
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they now are. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8.在學校念書時可能不分贏家或輸家，但人生並非如此。在學校裡，不及格的分數只要付學費就可以一直重修，現實世界裡的機會可沒那麼多。
Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9.人生不會以學期劃分。人生沒有暑假。很少有老闆會幫你發現自我，你得自己去做。
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10.電視裡演的並非現實。現實生活中，人不會一直娛樂，而得要去工作。
Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11.對你討厭的人友善點，因為有一天他可能會是你老闆。
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
